Loring Williams is a devoted husband to his wife, Mary Jane. In recent years, Loring has added the title of caregiver to his repertoire, as Mary Jane is living with Alzheimer’s disease; they are a united front, living out each day filled with love and the knowledge of what’s to come as Mary Jane progresses through the stages of this disease. Together with over 50 of their closest family and friends, Loring and Mary Jane participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s annually and in a recent letter to friends and family regarding the 2017 Springfield Walk, the couple wrote:
“Mary Jane and I got involved with the Walk to End Alzheimer’s because Alzheimer’s disease is very personal to us. Mary Jane is living with Alzheimer’s; we know the daily challenges that come with a diagnosis. We want to do whatever we can to help find a cure for all those bravely facing life with this disease. We choose to raise funds for the Springfield Walk each year because we are part of a global movement to end this horrible disease.
We believe it’s important to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease because it is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States and growing faster than breast cancer and pancreatic cancer (combined). In addition, raising funds for the Alzheimer’s Association provides local care and education services for those living with Alzheimer’s as well as their caregivers.
Please consider joining us in this fight against Alzheimer’s by making a donation to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Giving Tuesday, November 28. Your donation will allow the Miami Valley to continue on its walk towards the first survivor of Alzheimer’s disease and a promise garden full of beautiful, white flowers.”
Thank you for your consideration,
Loring & Mary Jane Williams
